HTTP ("HyperText Transfer Protocol") is the de facto protocol of the Internet and is built on top of TCP/IP at the application layer in the Internet protocol suite model for distribution and collaboration, supporting hypermedia information systems. HTTP is the foundation of the World Wide Web. It allows users to load web pages using hypertext links. Your browser "speaks" HTTP whenever you see it referenced in a URL starting with "http://" which then creates TCP/IP network traffic to resolve the address which follows into a particular machine in a specific "port" (which is typically 80 for standard web traffic).

HTML ("HyperText Markup Language") is the standard markup language for documents designed to be displayed in a web browser. HTML is typically requested and delivered over HTTP between web servers and web browsers. You can read and edit HTML files as standard text documents. Every HTML document has a series of beginning and ending matching "tags," which are unique predefined strings that indicate how text between them should be interpreted by the browser. HTTP is the protocol that supports the structured exchange of HTML between web servers and browsers over TCP/IP. HTML is the text that defines web pages that are served by web servers and "rendered" by web browsers.

HTTPS ("Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure") is an internet communication protocol that protects the integrity and confidentiality of data between the user's browser and the website using cryptography. The difference between HTTP and HTTPS is that HTTP is openly readable by anyone with access to the network, while HTTPS is only readable by the holders of the encryption and decryption keys. HTTPS websites are defined with "https://" at the beginning of the URL, replacing the plain "http://" in unsecured URLs. You will see HTTPS in use where personal or sensitive information is being served to a browser in cases where the release of that information could compromise the individual or the organization.
